Louisville’s professional soccer clubs will celebrate Pride Month throughout June, including a pair of Pride Night games to highlight the month’s first weekend.
On Friday, June 6, Racing Louisville FC will host the Utah Royals at Lynn Family Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Pride-themed cross-body bag, and Racing players will don jerseys with special rainbow-colored numbers.
The next night, June 7, Louisville City FC will host the Tampa Bay Rowdies at 8 p.m. The first 2,000 fans will receive a Pride-themed folding fan.
A line of Pride merchandise — including a new Louisville City warmup top — is also now on sale at the Lynn Family Stadium team store and online at LouSoccerStore.com with proceeds from purchases going to local nonprofits. LouCity players will also autograph their game-worn warmups for an online auction benefitting the Louisville Pride Foundation.
“All year long, we work to make sure that Lynn Family Stadium is an inclusive environment where all Louisvillians feel welcome for LouCity and Racing games,” said Stephanie Burdorf, the clubs’ community engagement manager. “This month, we’re showing our support for the LGBTQ community by advocating for their rights on and off the field. We are excited to celebrate Pride and allyship with our fans throughout June.”
After both Pride Night games, fans can show their tickets for free admission to Play Louisville (1101 E. Washington St.) for the official after party.
There are several other activations fans can look forward to, including:
- Anchorless Barber Co. will offer donation-based haircuts on site, with proceeds donated to Camp Beacon, a summer camp experience for LGBTQ youth.
- Fans can collect buttons featuring phrases such as, “Proud Ally,” “Out and Proud” and “Happy Pride”.
- The Pride Flag will fly over Lynn Family Stadium for the first time.
- DJ SCZ of Rhythm Science Sound and DJ SpringBreak, members of the LGBTQ community, will play music throughout both game nights Lynn Family Stadium.
