Racing Louisville head coach Bev Yanez will not be with the team for today’s game against the North Carolina Courage, the club confirmed Sunday.
“My family and I are heartbroken with the miscarriage of our baby boy,” Yanez said. “We are grieving and healing as a family at this time. It is an indescribable hurt that, through sharing my story, I am realizing many have gone through. I’m so grateful for the support around us as we heal our hearts.”
Assistant coach Carmelina Moscato will serve as the acting head coach for the match, with support from assistant coach Mitch Sowerby and goalkeepers coach Sergio Gonzalez.
Racing and North Carolina kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
