Savannah DeMelo is the latest Racing Louisville star to be featured on WAVE’s new Running With Racing feature series. The standout midfielder spoke at length about her 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup experience and also detailed her close relationship with new Racing head coach Bev Yanez.
She was a huge impact on my game last year. We watched a lot of film together. Bev just knows the game so well. She’s obviously played in the league, played against some of these players. She has a really good insight and she was someone I really leaned on last year — even when I got my card, she was so supportive through that process and the World Cup process. She means a lot to me. Just having her as a head coach is a different dynamic, but she is still just as supportive. We watch film all the time still. I’m just excited to use what she has and sees in us on the field.
