The first interview in WAVE’s Running With Racing series is out, with WAVE sports reporter Dusty Baker sitting down with new Racing head coach Bev Yanez.
For me, it’s incredibly exciting (to be a head coach) — just as you spoke about my journey as a former player in this league to now my journey as a coach in this league and embracing all those experiences I had as a player and what I learned from my coaches in that part of my career. … To embrace all those experiences, put them together and lead the way that I believe I can lead this group is incredibly exciting. I knew, once this opportunity presented itself, to go through the process. To become the head coach of this club, it was just a no-brainer. The group was incredibly special last year, and I knew it was something I really wanted and this is where I wanted to be.
