Racing Louisville acquired two 2024 NWSL Draft picks in a three-team trade involving NJ/NY Gotham FC and expansion side Bay FC, the clubs announced Tuesday.
In exchange for Gotham’s natural second- and third-round draft picks, Racing sent Bay FC $130,000 in funded allocation money while Gotham received 2023 NWSL Expansion Draft protection from Bay.
The trade was executed in the waning hours of a trade window that ended at 9 a.m. Tuesday ahead of Friday’s Expansion Draft.
Louisville now has the rights to five picks in January’s NWSL Draft, including two natural picks in the first round (No. 6 overall) and fourth round (No. 48).
Gotham’s two draft picks represent the 28th and 42nd overall slots. Racing previously acquired Bay’s second-round pick, 15th overall, in a November trade for expansion draft protection that also sent Racing’s third-round pick to Bay.
