DeMelo: My second year is about leading by example - Racing Louisville FC

After a breakout rookie season, Racing Louisville FC midfielder Savannah DeMelo told media Thursday she wants to lead by example in her second year as a pro and “exemplify what it is to be a Racing Louisville player.” She also discussed her contract extension with the team, her goals this season and more.

Upon launching, Racing Louisville made its city home to a major-league sports franchise for the first time in 41 years. The club plays in the NWSL — the world’s top women’s soccer circuit that’s home to most members of the highly successful U.S. national team — and plays at recently opened Lynn Family Stadium.
