Four of five Racing Louisville FC players on loan this offseason in Australia kicked off their A-League Women seasons this past weekend.
Goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer, who is on loan at Western Sydney Wanderers FC, will kick off her 2022-2023 campaign Friday against Newcastle Jets.
Here’s how those in action did in their season debuts…
Hillary Beall (Western United FC)
Earlier in the week named one of Western United’s co-vice captains, Beall made her professional soccer debut in a 1-0 victory against Melbourne Victory. Beall logged two saves en route to the shutout.
Jess McDonald (Western United FC)
On the same side as Beall, McDonald started and scored the game-winning goal in the 54th minute, helping the new club to its first A-League Women victory.
Alex Chidiac (Melbourne Victory)
Facing her two Racing teammates Beall and McDonald, Chidiac went the full 90 in Melbourne Victory’s 1-0 defeat to Western United.
Emina Ekic (Melbourne City FC)
Ekic — the Louisville native representing something other than her hometown for the first time — started and played 83 minutes in the club’s 4-1 win over Wellington Phoenix FC.
