Five Racing Louisville players will be representing their respective national teams during the final international window of the year. Emily Fox (United States), Rebecca Holloway (Northern Ireland), Satara Murray (Jamaica), Cheyna Matthews (Jamaica) and Alex Chidiac (Australia) will all be in camp.
Here’s more on their upcoming competitions and where to tune in.
Emily Fox – United States
The U.S. Women’s National Team is wrapping up its year with friendlies Thursday and Sunday against the 2022 UEFA Women’s Euro finalists Germany.
With 21 caps, Fox has been named to every USWNT camp roster in 2022, establishing herself as the primary left back in red, white and blue. The defender started 17 matches for Racing in the 2022 regular season.
Cheyna Matthew and Satara Murray – Jamaica
Jamaica is set to play a pair of friendlies against Paraguay on Thursday and Sunday in preparation for the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The Reggae Girlz qualified for the tournament, along with a spot in the Concacaf Olympic playoff, by placing third in the 2022 Concacaf W Championship this past summer.
Matthews is making her return to the pitch for the first time since giving birth to her third son in late July. In 2021, Matthews made 17 appearances for Racing, including four starts.
Murray, who was eligible to represent Jamaica, the United States, England, Guyana and Antigua and Barbuda, made her international debut for Jamaica in October of 2021. Over the summer, she made three starts for the Reggae Girlz during the Concacaf W Championship. With Racing, Murray made nine starts at center back in her first season.
Alex Chidiac – Australia
Co-hosts of the 2023 World Cup, Australia continues its preparations for the tournament by facing Sweden, the second-ranked team in the FIFA ratings, and Thailand in friendlies on Friday and Tuesday.
Chidiac has made 20 appearances for Australia, including four this year. After 18 appearances and netting two goals with Racing this year, the midfielder joined Melbourne Victory on loan for the offseason.
Rebecca Holloway – Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is finishing the year with a friendly against Italy on Tuesday. Despite missing out on the 2023 World Cup, the Green and White Army competed in its first ever European Championship and finished in the top half of its World Cup qualifying group.
Holloway has become a regular with Northern Ireland in the past year, tallying 16 caps and goals. After joining the club in May, the defender made six appearances and two starts for Racing.
