Racing Louisville FC goalkeeper Cristina Roque will join Tampa Bay Sun FC of the USL Gainbridge Super League on loan through the end of the calendar year.
Roque, 24, will head to the west coast of Florida for her second loan in the Gainbridge Super League, following time with Sporting Club Jacksonville from January–May 2026.
The former ACC Goalkeeper of the Year with Florida State University, Roque originally joined Racing via a trade with Utah Royals FC in June 2025. An extension with Louisville through 2026, with an option for 2027, followed. Though she hasn’t yet made a competitive appearance for Racing, Roque debuted for the club in a friendly with Lexington SC last July.
The Super League is set to begin a 14-match fall season on Aug. 15. The shortened campaign will serve as the league’s transition to a spring-to-fall calendar, beginning in 2027.
Tampa Bay, which won the inaugural Super League title, kicks off play Saturday at Dallas Trinity FC. All Gainbridge Super League matches, including the playoffs, will be streamed live on Peacock.

Roque came into the NWSL as a third-round draft choice of the Royals, then an expansion team, in the 2024 NWSL Draft. She recorded one regular-season appearance for Utah – a 1-0 win over Louisville in September 2024. She additionally appeared twice for the Royals during the NWSL x LIGA MX Femenil Summer Cup in 2024.
A Florida native, Roque was a four-year standout between the sticks for Florida State, winning two national championships in 2021 and 2023. She made nearly 70 appearances as a Seminole, all while finishing her career third all-time in school history for shutouts (36), wins (59) and goals-against average (0.67). Roque especially starred in the NCAA Tournament, departing FSU as the record holder for career wins (17) and career shutouts (16) in tournament play.
Roque has earned eight caps representing Puerto Rico on the international stage, keeping clean sheets in her last two appearances.
