As Racing Louisville FC resumes its suspended game at Seattle Reign FC, rookie Katie O’Kane will step in to a starting role. Club veteran Lauren Milliet, meanwhile, will be available from the bench for the first time since returning from injury.
The NWSL suspended Sunday’s contest at halftime after Racing midfielder Savannah DeMelo experienced a medical emergency on the field. The game will resume at the start of the second half with the score 0-0.
Because the game is resuming more than 24 hours after it was suspended, each team can make up to three roster changes without penalty, according to league rules. Those changes do not count as substitutions, and each team will still have all five substitutions and three windows available.
Racing has made two changes under the rule. The Seattle native O’Kane replaces DeMelo in lineup on the field, fresh off scoring her first professional goal in last week’s 2-1 loss to Portland. Milliet takes O’Kane’s spot on the bench, marking her first inclusion since suffering a shoulder injury in The Women’s Cup semifinal on July 19.
Otherwise, Racing’s team will remain unchanged from Sunday’s first half.
Kickoff for the second half is set for 8 p.m. ET behind closed doors at Lumen Field, with streaming available on NWSL+ and Paramount+.
