Racing Louisville FC has traded forward Ella Hase to the North Carolina Courage in exchange for $35,000 in intraleague transfer funds, the clubs announced today.
Hase, whose contract was set to expire at the end of the season, had not come to an agreement on a new deal with Racing.
She is in her second professional season, having signed her first pro deal with Racing in January 2025. During her time in Louisville, Hase made 44 appearances, including 32 starts, contributing one goal and an assist.
Her lone goal was the most significant in Racing history — clinching the club’s first-ever playoff berth on Nov. 2, 2025, in a 1-0 win over Bay FC.
“I’ll always be grateful for my time spent in Louisville,” said Hase. “Starting my professional career here will always be special to me, and the relationships I made are everlasting. I wish nothing but the best for the club and group going forward.”
Hase, a native of Orland Park, Ill., approximately 25 miles southwest of Chicago, initially joined Racing following a standout five-season collegiate career at Northwestern University and Duke University.
Overall, Hase made 93 appearances at the college level, 88 of which were starts, and registered 17 goals and 23 assists.
She earned a second-team All-Big Ten honor in her final season at Northwestern (2023), before receiving the same distinction in her lone campaign in the ACC with Duke. Hase delivered 13 assists in 2024 as a Blue Devil, which ranks third among Duke’s single-season records.
