Midfielder Katie O’Kane is slated for a return to the Racing Louisville FC starting XI Friday night, representing the lone lineup change for a 10 p.m. ET road test versus San Diego Wave FC at Snapdragon Stadium.
NWSL+ will carry the streaming coverage of the late-night encounter, while fans can also listen to the contest on Sports Talk 790AM or 790louisville.com.
O’Kane, who has started in 18 out of her 21 league appearances this season heading into Friday night, is back in the Racing midfield after starting on the bench in last week’s 3-2 defeat at Chicago Stars FC. The Seattle native is Louisville’s leader in chances created with 26 — already 10 more than what she tallied across all of last season.
Audrey McKeen will make way for O’Kane, as the 17-year-old is among the list of substitutes in her final match before departing for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
Continuity remains in the backline, with Ella Hase and Quincy McMahon again providing width as wingbacks, while captain Arin Wright, Ellie Jean and rookie standout Mirann Gacioch slot into roles in the heart of the defense. McMahon is a former Wave player, having spent all of 2025 — her rookie campaign — with the Wave. She moved to Racing by way of trade in January after making seven appearances for San Diego.
In last week’s loss, Jean led Louisville with four tackles won, while completing nearly 85% of her passes (37 for 44).
Jordyn Bloomer sticks in goal for Racing, having hit her 40th career league start last time out. Per Opta, she ranks third in the NWSL in saves made (73).
O’Kane joins up with Taylor Flint, one of Louisville’s two goal scorers in Chicago, and the club’s new all-time single-season assists leader Lauren Milliet. Milliet picked up her sixth assist on the year versus the Stars, finding Flint at the near post for a clinical equalizing header. No player in the NWSL has produced more games with 15 or more duels won than Flint this season (2).
Kayla Fischer and Emma Sears, two of the players with at least three goals in August, continue as Racing’s starting forward duo. Despite not finding the net at Chicago, the two were undoubtedly threatening, combining for nine shots and 17 touches in the opposition’s box.
Rookie Taylor White, who has been out due to injury, is back on the Louisville team sheet Friday as a substitute. Others include McKeen, Sarah Weber and Rachel Hill, who is going up against one of her former teams for the second consecutive week.
