Racing Louisville made it two wins from the last three thanks to goals Saturday by rookie Mirann Gacioch and Kayla Fischer. It was a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Stars that crucially vaulted Racing out of last place in the NWSL standings.

Upon launching, Racing Louisville made its city home to a major-league sports franchise for the first time in 41 years. The club plays in the NWSL — the world’s top women’s soccer circuit that’s home to most members of the highly successful U.S. national team — and plays at recently opened Lynn Family Stadium.
