
Racing Louisville FC co-captain Janine Sonis will join the Canadian women’s national soccer team for a pair of international friendlies, both against Japan.
Sonis completed a record-setting 2025 season with Racing. She set the club’s new single-season assist mark with five, second most in the league. She also added three goals.
As a team, Racing set club records for: wins (10), points (37), goals scored (36) and road victories (5).
Canada will face Japan on Saturday, Nov. 29 (1:30 a.m. ET) and Tuesday, Dec. 2 (9 p.m. ET). Both games will take place at Peace Stadium in Nagasaki.
The 31-year-old Sonis has earned 121 caps for Canada, scoring 36 goals. She won an Olympic Gold Medal in 2021 and a Bronze Medal in 2016.
