Racing Louisville FC’s 2022 visit to the Orlando Pride will be played as part of the first-ever Daytona Soccer Fest, an event combining world-class entertainment and professional soccer at Daytona International Speedway.
Originally scheduled for July 2 in Orlando, Racing at the Pride has shifted to Sunday, July 3, with kickoff at 8 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
“We’re super excited to be playing in the NWSL Clash at Daytona against Orlando,” said Gemma Bonner, Racing Louisville defender and captain. “We can’t wait to put a show on for you all. Our games against Orlando are always super exciting and go down to the last few minutes. So Daytona, we’ll see you in July.”
Daytona and Torneos, a leading company in the sports entertainment industry, will team up to showcase a newly-built soccer field positioned on the grass between pit road and the tri-oval for this spectacle of an event.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the Daytona Soccer Fest and equally excited to bring an official NWSL match to Daytona Beach, Florida,” said NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman. “This truly one-of-a-kind event will be a special experience for both the players and our fans, and we couldn’t be more excited to have one of the most iconic and renowned sports venues in the world as a backdrop to showcase our game.
“Thank you to Daytona International Speedway, Torenos, and our clubs in Orlando and Louisville for their continued partnership as we make this event a reality.”
The Racing-Pride game will cap a two-day Daytona Soccer Fest lineup that on Sunday also includes a 3 p.m. Legends Game featuring World Cup champions and stars of the men’s game such as David Trezeguet, Juan Sebastian Verón, Javier Mascherano and Claudio Pizarro.
Three-time GRAMMY winner Chance the Rapper will also perform during a 6 p.m. pregame concert next to the field, with a fireworks display to follow the Racing-Pride game.
Saturday’s events at Daytona consist of a match between reigning Colombian Champion Deportivo Cali and crosstown rival America de Cali, as well as a concert from Latin Grammy Award-winner Rauw Alejandro and latin artist Adassa, who recently played the role of Dolores in Disney’s Encanto.
Daytona Soccer Fest tickets are on sale starting at $99 for a day pass and $149 for a two-day pass. Visit www.daytonasoccerfest.com for more information.
