The National Women’s Soccer League on Wednesday announced Racing Louisville FC’s 2022 regular-season schedule with 12 teams set to compete in a single table, 22-match campaign including 11 games apiece home and away.
Racing kicks off the regular season April 30 at the Chicago Red Stars, last year’s NWSL Championship runner-up that returns U.S. Women’s National Team stars Tierna Davidson and Mallory Pugh. The home opener is then set for May 14 against the Houston Dash at Lynn Family Stadium.
Most Racing games in 2022 fall on the weekends, with the home schedule including one Tuesday game, one Wednesday game, four Friday fixtures and five Saturday kickoffs. Six home matches will kick off at 8 or 8:30 p.m., allowing for balmy summertime temperatures to cool.
The regular season follows the NWSL Challenge Cup, a six-game tournament that Racing opens against the Kansas City Current at 7:30 p.m. Friday inside Lynn Family Stadium.

Several key games featuring a number of international stars dot Racing’s schedule, including an Aug. 5 home matchup against reigning league champion Washington Spirit, which features two-time World Cup winner Kelley O’Hara and last season’s Rookie of the Year, Trinity Rodman.
OL Reign, led by national team stars Megan Rapinoe and Rose Lavelle as well as reigning league MVP Jess Fishlock, plays Racing at Lynn Family Stadium three days earlier on Aug. 2.
Racing has four matches against the NWSL’s newest expansion squads, starting with a Wednesday, May 18, home tilt against Alex Morgan and the San Diego Wave. Angel City FC, based in Los Angeles, visits Lynn Family Stadium three weeks later on June 11. The return games come July 15 at San Diego and Sept. 25 at Angel City.
As part of the league’s balanced framework for 2022, a significantly smaller number of contests have been scheduled during FIFA windows, allowing for fewer conflicts for the league’s most accomplished players who compete with both club and country.
Six teams qualify for the NWSL playoffs, which start in October. The NWSL Championship will be played the weekend of Oct. 28-30.
The 2022 regular season will air across The CBS Television Network and CBS Sports Network and stream live on Paramount+. Twitch, the home for all internationally streamed matches, will also stream select games in the United States. Television details for regular-season matches will be shared in the coming weeks.
