With the NWSL Championship set for Nov. 20 at Lynn Family Stadium — and Racing Louisville FC a first-year member of the league — the club’s supporters have pitched in to welcome visitors to town.
All this week, we’ll be posting fan-recommended spots to eat, drink, stay and more at www.racingloufc.com/racingloufc.
We’ll start with a nod to bourbon country. Here’s where to drink near Lynn Family Stadium.
Copper & Kings Rooftop Bar & Restaurant: 112 E. Washington Street
This distillery evidences how brandy can elevate a cocktail by changing its base spirit. The views are nice, too. Peer in one direction, and it’s a glance at the downtown Louisville skyline. Glance the other way, and you’ll overlook Lynn Family Stadium.
Feast BBQ: 909 E. Market Street
This is a restaurant more than a bar. And while the food is plenty yummy, we’d be remiss to not point out this local favorite serves a popular bourbon slushy.
Garage Bar: 700 E. Market Street
In addition to their wood-fired pizzas and extensive drink menu — the Honey Lavender Lemonade is a favorite — Garage Bar features an extensive outdoor seating area. Ping pong tables and turf seating make it an ideal happy hour or late-night hot spot.
Play Louisville: 1101 E. Washington Street
“Louisville’s place to party” is one of the closest spots to Lynn Family Stadium and where you’ll often find Racing Louisville supporters after games. It’s ideal for late-night dancing, drinks and drag shows.
Please & Thank You: 800 E. Market Street
Louisville has a way of getting its guest to overindulge. Shake that hangover with some nice coffee, but the real reason to visit is what many consider the best chocolate chip cookies in town.
Honorable mentions: The Silver Dollar and its extensive bourbon selection at 1761 Frankfort Avenue; soccer-loving Pregame Coffee at 723 E. Main Street; and the eclectic High Horse, a neighborhood bar a close walk from Lynn Family Stadium at 1032 Story Avenue.
