Goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska and forward Maja Lardner are slated to make their first NWSL starts for Racing Louisville FC when the club hosts expansion side Denver Summit FC at 8 p.m. ET at Lynn Family Stadium.
Louisville’s final contest until July 5 will be streamed on Prime Video, which is available online at amazon.com/primevideo. Local radio coverage will air on SportsTalk 790 AM.
Prohaska, who made her NWSL debut in net for Racing last week after coming on in the 22nd minute for an injured Jordyn Bloomer, will start in the Racing net for the first time in her professional career. She made two saves in the 2-1 defeat to North Carolina Courage last week.
Up front, Lardner is set to lead the Louisville line Friday night. Lardner, a Georgetown product who signed a deal in January through 2027, has made five appearances off the bench for Racing prior to receiving this starting opportunity.
Lardner’s inclusion as the No. 9 shifts Kayla Fischer back into the attacking midfield position. The rest of the starting XI remains unaltered.
Fischer will join back up with Taylor Flint and Katie O’Kane to form the Racing midfield. Though this is the first meeting between Racing and Denver, Flint has a connection to Colorado, having played four years at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2016 to 2019.
Emma Sears, fresh off being called up once again for the upcoming United States Women’s National Team training camp, will occupy the right wing position. Makenna Morris keeps her place after returning to the lineup last week opposite Sears on the left.
For the fourth match running, the backline stays consistent with captain Arin Wright and Courtney Petersen anchoring the center. Wright recorded her first goal of the campaign in second-half stoppage time last Saturday. Lauren Milliet, who has played the second-most minutes on the team this year, takes up the right back role once again, opposite Quincy McMahon in the left back position.
The bench notably includes the return of defender Ellie Jean, who hasn’t been on the club’s team sheet since May 3. Audrey McKeen, a recent call-up by the United States U-18 YNT, is among the others within the list of available substitutes.
