Racing Louisville FC’s Makenna Morris will make her first start of the 2026 season against her former club, the Washington Spirit.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at Audi Field on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old Morris played 20 minutes off the bench in last week’s 3-2 win over the Orlando Pride. She registered one shot and was shown a yellow card in the game.
Morris, a third-year pro, joined Racing in a trade from Washington last August. She has battled injury during her time in Louisville and has not been available for the team’s three games against Washington since she joined Louisville.
Listed as a defender, the versatile Morris will start on the left wing, replacing Ella Hase in the starting lineup.
Morris is one of three changes made by Racing head coach Bev Yanez to the Louisville lineup as the team deals with its first midweek game of the season. Wednesday’s match is the second in a 14-day stretch in which Racing will play four games.
Quincy McMahon will start at left back, with Courtney Petersen dropped to the bench. McMahon started the season opener at the North Carolina Courage on March 14, but missed the ensuing three games with an injury. She returned from injury to come off the bench against Orlando last week.
Macey Hodge will start in the midfield, with Katie O’Kane moving to the bench. Wednesday will be Hodge’s third start of the season.
Hase, Petersen and O’Kane had each started all five games this season.
The rest of the team is unchanged from last week’s win.
Lauren Milliet, fresh off her first career game with two goals, starts at right back. Captain Arin Wright and Ellie Jean start at center back. Wednesday marks Wright’s second start of the season, following an injury she suffered in the preseason.
Taylor Flint and Kayla Fischer join Hodge in the midfield. Flint continues to lead the NWSL in interceptions with 21, six more than Bay’s Claire Hutton. Fischer’s two assists are second-best on the team.
Emma Sears, who leads Louisville with three assists and four total goal contributions, starts on the wing opposite Morris. Sarah Weber, who scored her team-leading third goal of the season against Orlando, starts at center forward.
Jordyn Bloomer, who made a season-high nine saves against Orlando, starts in goal.
On the bench, rookies Taylor White, Maja Lardner, Macy Blackburn and Audrey McKeen join Hase, Petersen and O’Kane among the position players. Maddie Prohaska is the backup goalkeeper.
