2024
After missing the majority of the NWSL season due to injury and a trip to the U-20 World Cup, the New Zealander made her Racing debut in the regular season finale on Nov. 3.
Before Racing
Clegg started out in the National League, New Zealand’s top women’s soccer league. She helped Auckland United win the amateur 2022 Kate Sheppard Cup, the country’s top domestic trophy.
From there, Clegg joined Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand’s only club in Australia’s first division A-League Women. The forward scored four goals in 16 appearances there, finishing among the league’s top 20 goal scorers before she turned 18. She was a finalist for the A-League Women Young Footballer of the Year.
Clegg signed with Western Sydney Wanderers ahead of the 2023-24 campaign and made one appearance before being sidelined with injury.
International
Through October 2025, the Racing Louisville forward has made 11 caps for the United States Women’s National Team, including four goals and two assists. In October 2025, Sears scored her first international hat trick against New Zealand.
After earning her first call-up during the October 2024 window, Sears became the fourth player in USWNT history to score a goal and tally an assist in their international debut, helping the Americans rally to defeat Iceland in an October 27 friendly. She also started October 30 as the USWNT played for the first time at Lynn Family Stadium in a friendly against Argentina.
